Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our Process and Operations team in Central Africa. The successful candidate will have a strong background in managing mineral processing and metallurgy operations, with a focus on copper, cobalt, tin, and tantalum.

Key Responsibilities:

- Lead operations and project teams to achieve production targets and optimize efficiency

- Develop and implement strategies for cost and recovery improvements

- Manage P&L for Metal & Mining Business

- Ensure timely commissioning of plants and achievement of production targets

- Develop and implement production plans, manpower optimization, and operational excellence

- Ensure safety, health, and environmental aspects are fully in place

- Lead a team of expats and nationals, with a focus on training and development

- Collaborate with HR, Admin, and other support teams to ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

Job Description:

Managing follow-ups

Schedule meetings in calendars

Take MoM and follow-up on deadlines agreed upon with various team members

Meeting prep done (e.g. making and sharing agendas, sharing info/data beforehand for review)

Research certain industries, organisations, programs, etc and prepare summaries

Write emails, draft memos, etc (through dictation and/or with brief bullet points shared)

Do site visits across respective business units

Manage administrative tasks (e.g. travel management, personal items/tasks, paperwork)

Represent SC/PC in certain meetings and share reports, feedback, minutes in a summarized format

Oversight of projects

Tracking timelines
