Vaccination handling, live vaccine application and techniques.

Poultry disease and sickness identification.

Post mortem knowledge.

Be able to manage staff/workers and problem solve.

Good bio security and farm hygiene practices.

Good feed management knowledge.

Have worked in open-sided poultry houses.

Have worked in both manual and fully automated poultry houses.

Have equipment maintenance skills.

Have all record-keeping knowledge

Day old chick brooding.

Manual ventilation, and curtain control skills.

Fully automated equipment management.

Live and inactivated vaccine application and administration knowledge.

Assistant General Production Manager - Central Africa

Location: Central Africa

Experience: 15-20 Years

Job Responsible:

Successful candidate should fulfil the following requirements.

Speak English. French or Swahili will also be a benefit.

Have 15 - 20 years of overall production, rearing and farming knowledge.

Have sound knowledge of the following, post mortem, diagnosis of diseases and bacterial infections, vaccination techniques, medication applications, brooding management.

Have an understanding of poultry biosecurity and farm hygiene.

Has been in his own production farm at some stage

Mechanical and technically minded.

Must be pro active and be able to recognise and react to problems and daily challenges faced.

Must be able to manage all farm staff members.

Ensure maintenance and repairs are continuously managed.

Be prepared to dirty his hands.

No broiler knowledge is required (egg production only)

Must have a valid drivers license.

At-least 3 years of experience (ideally 5 years) in a rearing & layer production facility.

Understanding of poultry husbandry & related activities

Layer production recording stats

Rearing record keeping
