Job Description

·         *Candidate must have experience from Mining and Mineral Processing Company*

·         *Plan, prepare, direct and ensure effective implementation of sound financial, commercial, accounting/Audit, policies, practices & strategies in line with corporate plans*

·         *Act as an enterprise wide key decision support assisting the top management in formulating and implementing long term and short term strategies*

·         *Participate and initiate plans for enhancing financial strength & overall growth of the business.
Overall responsible for supervising, managing and controlling finance and accounts department of the Company*

·         *Exposure of Project finance*

·         *Managing efficiently the cost structure and optimizing costs at all times*

·         *Preparation and timely submission of Management Information System (MIS), review and improve MIS including consolidated financials*

·         *Preparation of Business forecasting, budgeting and rolling plans, effectiveness and monitoring process*

·         Responsible for accounting systems, Treasury management and cash flow planning

·         *Determining financial objectives, designing & implementing systems, policies & procedures in consultation with top management to facilitate internal financial control*

·         Review and identifying financial needs of the company and a strategy how to fund it

·         *Preparation and submission of monthly financial statements*

·         *Exposure to IFRS*

·         Review of operations, controls in supply chain, efficiency of operations, Controlling and monitoring all financial assets and liabilities

·         Implement, document and maintain adequate and effective processes to improve the close and reporting cycles to ensure timely and accurate reporting

·         Responsible for ensuring compliance with all applicable laws, rules, and regulations

·         Coordinating with local authorities on various taxation, accounting and legal matters

·         Ensuring all taxation and related compliances

·         Coordinating with internal and external auditors ensuring timely completion of audit of financial statements

·         Coordinating with all Heads of Departments for efficient operating practices

·         Implement effective staff training program wherever required in finance and accounting department

·         Carry out any other tasks assigned by top management

Finance Controller - Zambia

Location: Zambia

Job description:

Manage day to day end to end accounting operation.

Person should be able to manage minimum 6-7 team of accountants.

Person should be able to do month/Year closing activities on his own.

He should have sound knowledge and application of IFRS and International reporting standard.

He should have managed Management reports (MIS) and can prepare on his own financial statements like Balance sheet, Income statement (P/L), Cashflow, fund-flow, Sales report (customer/region wise).

He should be able to manage payroll of company having manpower more than 200 people. (Both Local national & Expatriate)

He should be able to help top management to maintain liquidity in the company by way of reporting and continuous suggestions. Treasury management.

He should be able to prepare Budget plan on his own and then should be able to control on spending and provide proper variance analysis to top management.

He should have expert level of proficiency in Excel, Power point and word (MS office package)

He should be excellent in communication. (Both written & Oral)

He should be able to do liasioning with external agencies on his own. (i.e. Banks, government officials, auditor etc.)

He should have good exposure of international accounting and cross border transactions.

He should be able to manage branch accounting and develop smooth process between HO and branches.

Support management in efficiency improvement initiative at organisational level.

Preparation of Product costing and helping sales team in product pricing and also keeping management updated with any changes in economical environment which may impact costing of products.

Maintaining all accounting records as per Zambia law.

Ensuring company remains 100% compliant and take care of all statutory obligation on timely manner.

Objectives of this Role

Responsible, either directly or by managing staff, for all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, helping to drive the company’s financial strategy and hiring needs

Coordinate the development of the annual operating, capital, and program budgets, and reporting against the same

Ensure cash flow is compatible with company operations, by overseeing the day-to-day accounting, recording, reporting, and internal control activities of the organization

Lead the development and use of best-practice policies, practices, and tools that ensure a well-controlled yet flexible organization with strong fiscal management, project management, cross team communications and workflow

Comply with federal, state, and local financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing compliance, and taking action

 

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

Work with the senior management to efficiently develop proposal budgets, provide access to project finance information, and manage contract/grant compliance and reporting

Research revenue opportunities and economic trends, analyze internal operations, identify areas of cost reduction and process enhancement

Perform risk management through analysis of company liabilities and investments, and evaluate and manage capital structure and fundraising initiatives

Oversee HR function, coordinating with external service providers (payroll, benefits, and general HR) and internal staff responsible for various aspects of HR

Monitor performance with tracking, establish corrective measures as needed, and prepare detailed reports, both current and forecasting for earnings calls, the management team, and the rest of the company

Manage finance personnel and oversee financial IT systems, ensuring compliance with all applicable Financial Accounting Standards Board, Internal Revenue Service, State Attorney General, and other relevant regulations

 

Skills and Qualifications

Master’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance

10+ years experience in executive leadership positions

Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity

Exceptional verbal, written, and visual communication skills

Understanding of advanced accounting, regulatory issues, and tax planning

Working knowledge of raising capital beyond traditional lines of credit

 

Preferred Qualifications

International experience

Experience with mergers and acquisitions and investor relations

Executive experience with SaaS business models and their associated revenue recognition is strongly preferred

CPA a strong plus

Candidate must have knowledge of French Language
