Location: Central Africa
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled HEMM (Heavy
Earth Moving Machinery) Technician to join our team in Central Africa. The
ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the maintenance and repair of
Tata and Mahindra trucks and buses. This role requires a hands-on professional
with a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic
systems, and overall vehicle diagnostics.
Responsibilities:
- Perform
routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on Tata and Mahindra
trucks and buses.
- Diagnose
and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
- Conduct
thorough inspections and identify potential issues.
- Repair
and replace engine components, transmissions, differentials, and other
vehicle systems.
- Troubleshoot
and repair electrical wiring and electronic control systems.
- Maintain
accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
- Ensure
all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company
policies.
- Order
and manage spare parts and inventory.
- Provide
technical support and guidance to junior technicians.
- Perform
road tests to ensure proper vehicle operation.
- Adapt
to and work effectively in challenging environmental conditions.
Qualifications:
- Minimum
of 10+ years of proven experience as a HEMM Technician, specifically with
Tata and Mahindra trucks and buses.
- ITI
or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related
field.
- Strong
knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic
systems.
- Proficiency
in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Excellent
troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability
to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
- Strong
attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.
- Ability
to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent
communication and interpersonal skills.
- Valid
driver's license.
- Ability
to work in Central Africa.
- Experience
in a remote location is a plus.

Job description:
To assemble and maintain heavy mining equipment and
machinery at a manufacturing facility and working closely with a team of
assembly technicians to ensure that all equipment is assembled efficiently,
safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities.
The Machine Build Mechanic will be required to perform the
following tasks:
• Ensure Health and Safety standards, Regulations and
Procedures are adhered to at all times.
• Participate in safety meetings.
• Analyze all components to be worked on, and ensure task
requirements are clearly understood and all risks identified before commencing
the job.
• Assembly of heavy mining equipment and machinery at the
customers site of operations.
• Ensure that all equipment is assembled efficiently,
safely, and to the highest quality standards.
• Ensure that all necessary parts and materials are
available when needed.
• Ensure tools are available for the team and kept in good
condition.
• Ensure quality of work is inspected before dispatching.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety regulations and
quality standards throughout the assembly process.
• Report all incidents immediately to the Supervisor.
• Comply with all incident reporting and hazard
identification policies.
• To promote the culture of safety, quality &
efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
• Minimum of an Advanced Certificate in Heavy Equipment
Repair
• Diploma in Heavy Equipment Repair/Mechanical engineering
from a recognized institution will be an added advantage.
• Minimum experience of 3 years on heavy equipment machinery
in a mining environment.
• Must have experience in heavy equipment assembly.
• Knowledge of heavy machinery and equipment maintenance is
mandatory.
