Key Responsibilities

·         Should maintain Shop Floor & mechanics team

·         To coordinate with all user departments for necessary support

·         To make assessment of equipment’s regularly

·         To asses break downs & action plans

·         To recommend spares & facilities to render timely services

·         Can under take specialized repairs by own.

·         Should give daily/weekly/Monthly activity report of Garage. Should maintain records of the Garage & equipment.

Essentials- Experience-Exposure – Expertise:

·         Should have worked on repairs & maintenance of Heavy Earth moving equipment’s like Excavators, Loaders, Dozers, Graders, Cranes, HCV Trucks, Dumpers, Forklifts & so on.

Garage Head - Central Africa (HEMM)

Head of Department – Garage & Maintenance

Experience: 15-20 Years

Education: B.E/B.tech – Mechanical OR Automobile (Full time only)

Location: Central Africa

The garage head will be responsible for all activities carried out the in department, viz.;

•             Implementing of the systemised methodology of all work carried out in the garage.

•             Creating of datas and history records of work done.

•             Controlling of cost at each level

•             Utilisation of manpower and available resources.

•             Control supervisors’ activities

•             Liaising with managers at sites in order to adapt protocols and procedures, ensuring timely preventive maintenance and management of rigs to optimize utilization

•             Work with the Business head and HOD’s and respond to user’s requests for updates on the status of their jobs and keep the communication channels open to ensure information is accurate.

•             Receive and review feedback from the sites and end users and take action required.

•             Discuss with team to identify appropriate course of action, develop and implement systems to record, file and store information pertaining to all enquiries or services

•             Planning of rig utilization, down times, site placements, asset purchasing forecast, etc. along with Operations’ HoD

•             Surprise visits to sites along with time spent on sites

•             Training programs designed and given to onsite team members and garage & maintenance department team members to upskill their knowledge and work

•             Continuous skills assessment to ensure correct staff placement + planning for training where required

•             Complete technical library that is accessible to senior mechanical and HOD staff; for all Operators Manuals, Spare parts lists, technical specifications for the complete fleet (including major components such as Rotary heads, different engine derivatives, mud-pumps etc.)

•             Reduction of repeat repairs

Hydraulic mechanism knowledge is required.

French and Swahili would be an added advantage. If the candidate does not speak Swahili or French, it will be mandatory for him to learn within 3-6 months.

Auto Mechanic (Heavy) - Central Africa

Qualification: Diploma Mechanical engineer OR B.E in Mechanical

Experience: 7 to 10 years

Preference: African back ground, Hydraulic knowledge is must, Diesel engine knowledge is also necessary

Note: We need field person, not for sitting in office and give instructions

• Diagnoses, services and repairs mechanical, hydraulic & electrical systems that are found on vehicles.
• Performs maintenance and repair activities on various pieces of vehicles or Equipments Including but not limited to cars, pick-up, generators, mud-pumps, diamond drill rigs etc…Give daily task to Sub-ordinate and other local mechanics and control day to day if tasks are completed.
• Troubleshoots malfunctions in the equipment and repair. Where require Fabricates, modifies, overhauling engine and installs special equipment or replacement parts.
• Plan and organise routine maintenance checks and adjustments on such things as fluid levels, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, radiators, and clutches; changes filters and oil, and lubricates vehicles and motor driven equipment.
• Maintains service logs and records of maintenance on vehicles and motorised equipment, in computer & on vehicles.
• Prepares work orders and cost materials estimates.
• Keeps tools, equipment, and work area clean, organised, and in good working condition.
• While on servicing of LMV, HMV, RIGS etc., it is mandatory to maintain ZERO spill or dripping of fluids (Engine Oil, Hydraulic Oil, Diesel etc..) on ground and/or if require proper precautionary measures are to be taken to avoid the contamination of sub-surface soil.
• Waste oil, cotton waste etc., should be disposed of appropriately in proper designated dumpsites or landfills.
• May assist in training lower-level workers in mechanical repair techniques.
• Maintains inventory and orders parts, tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists other mechanics with the more difficult assignments, utilize his skills up to maximum level.
• Organise routing check-up of logbooks of all vehicles, fuel consumption control, keep records of drivers & local mechanic and keep control on them.
• You will look after for local purchase and prepare detailed list for spares to be imported.

Job Description

To read, interpret electrical circuit diagrams, trouble-shoot the fault and attend to complaints / jobs independently in workshop and in field.

Must be familiar with latest electrical & electronic controls pertaining to heavy commercial vehicles & trucks.

Should be familiar with utilization of most modern electrical / electronic diagnostic tools. Candidate must be willing to travel to customer job site

Qualification: ITI/NCVT Certificate in Auto Electrician trade from State Board of Technical Education.

Experience:

Should have minimum 5 years experience in modern workshop of repute, dealing with Heavy Commercial Vehicles / Equipment.

Should be familiar with utilization of most modern electrical / electronic diagnostic tools
