Skills And Qualification :
Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum 5 - 8 years in
a reputed Engineering Product based firm or industries or heavy engineering
equipment manufacturing unit in procurement department
Must have good communication skills in English & Hindi
Must have good price negotiation skills and global vendor
development
Commercial skill is an added advantage
Must be a good team player
Must have a positive attitude and interpersonal skill.
Knowledge & Experience :
Knowledge on Heavy Machinery components; Knowledge on Heavy
Earthmoving Equipment is an additional advantage
Knowledge of domestic and overseas supplier base
Experience in price negotiation and contract management;
Experience in Vendor Auditing, ISO process, documentation & compliance
Job Summary :
Dy Manager - Purchase is responsible for the sourcing of
Mining Machinery parts, components and equipment from the domestic and overseas
markets and developing the vendor base for the smooth procurement of the items.
He will also negotiate with the vendors and maintain a
long-term relationship with them and evaluate their performance based upon the
company's business requirements.
Job Responsibilities :
Design and implement an effective sourcing strategy to
reduce costs of parts, components, equipment and manage all sourcing processes.
Coordinate all negotiations and prepare appropriate documents for the same.
Maintain all contracts and evaluate all performance
according to contract and ensure efficient flow of all conditions in contract.
Coordinate with vendors on all prices of parts, components,
equipment and recommend ways to reduce costs of items and also ensure
non-disclosure agreements for various sources wherever applicable.
Establishing long-term partnerships with suppliers;
Monitoring their performance and quality and managing existing supply base
Develop and implement Category Sourcing strategies (demand
management, supplier management, process management).
Investigate with the internal customer to lower the total
cost of ownership of commodities. Exploit the supplier contribution for
innovation. Arrange for testing/piloting of new technologies and alternative
suppliers.
Develop alternative supply bases for critical and long lead
items, Monitor performance of suppliers, and resolve issues.
Build and benchmark Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) models.
Prepare the comparison statement in consultation with the
user department on brand and specifications.
Managing supplier's performance by quality, cost, delivery
and responsiveness
Negotiates/Renegotiates with the vendor for final pricing
and delivery terms
Responsible for timely procurement of
parts/assemblies/subassemblies/ equipment/ packages.
Follow up and get the job done pending with
Suppliers/Package vendors.
Coordination with other departments like
Accounts/Engineering/Construction/Store etc.
Zero Production Loss due to material shortage
Preparation of Purchase orders/service orders/work
orders/consultancy orders etc.
