STRUCTURAL WELDING FOREMAN

 The Structural Welding Foreman will lead a team of welders, fitters, and crane operators on our production floor to meet our production demands in a timely and safe manner. They will establish & support a successful fabrication team through defined expectations, effective communication and a positive work environment. The Structural Welding Foreman will report to the Production Manager.

 

Duties Summary/Responsibilities:

 

Oversee assigned day shift fabrication employees and their assigned duties

Coordination and monitoring of all work activities, fabrication progress and resources to meet production schedules

Ensure all work is done within ADF-established quality standards, safety protocol, and job specifications

Conduct regular inspections of the work (practices/methods) to check for any deviations from ADF-established quality standards

Establish open lines of communication across organizational departments to ensure knowledge of all ongoing project expectations

Provide new-employee orientations and inform, train and promote safe work methods and environment

Investigates all incidents which occurred in your section and complete appropriate reports

Coordinate with HR Department regarding employee appraisals, discipline, and annual performance reviews

Responsible for time keeping of group

Completion of all work-related reports and documentation

Responsible for ensuring that safety rules and regulations are respected

Any other related duties, as required and/or special projects as needed

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

 

Knowledge in AWS D1.1 welding, metallurgy and steel fabrication

Prior management or supervisory experience in the structural steel industry, or 8-10 years of comparable knowledge, skills and abilities

Effectively plan, organize and prioritize work duties in a fast paced environment

Extensive knowledge of reading and interpreting structural blueprints

Knowledge of codes of standards for AISC, AWS, and CWB

Ability to weld in both FCAW and MCAW processes

Strong verbal and written communication skills

Promotes a zero loss mindset culture and effective asset utilization

Job Description: 

·         Specifically we are looking for Rolling Mill setup / AOD setup / CCM Setup / Furnace Setup and general set up.

·         Candidate must have experience in Steel Industry Civil Work

·         Good Exposure across Steel Industry set up

·         Execution /Supervision of civil construction work at project site

·         Civil construction of equipment foundation as per drawing and timeline.

·         Ensure projects are completed within allocated cost budget

·         Initiate Civil construction involved in new projects and draft clear budget for all civil requirements.

·         Weekly tracking of Budget vs Actual Costs + Savings in material costs and consumption, Reconciliation of budget Vs actual

·         Site mobilization, Manpower recruitment, Review of layout plan, construction drawings, BOQ & estimate the CAPEX & schedule

·         Candidate will be responsible for completion of civil construction per drawings and QAP

·         Preparation of Documentation of QAP, project completion

·         Close co-ordination with project team

·         Software Knowledge: MS Project, AutoCAD, Read / interpret civil construction drawings

Job Description:

·         This position reports directly to the Head Production. This position also works closely with Engineering, Quality, and Customer Service for optimized customer satisfaction and manufacturing performance. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:

·         Direct and manage activities of the plant’s manufacturing operations which include, but not limited to; Turning, Milling, Grinding, Heat Treat, Assembly, Shipping, etc. Deliver productivity through process simplification and modernization activities. Lead, coach and support manufacturing supervisors as needed to ensure that plant metrics are being met, production problems are being addressed, and the performance of production employees are being effectively managed and supported. Meet production requirements relative to established or changing demand levels. Adhere to plant environmental, safety and health guidelines.

·         Meet customer service, quality and on-time delivery goals. Administer company policies and procedures. Interface with product design teams to enhance sales growth. Identify lean improvements and cost reduction projects and pursue continuous improvement through employee involvement using lean manufacturing techniques. Optimize inventory levels while driving inventory down and service up. Adhere to specific business unit budget. Develop and implement business unit capital projects to meet plant and asset objectives. Develop employees by conducting performance reviews, providing coaching, counseling, and effective training. Ability to understand product designs and specifications.

·         Candidates must also have strong organizational and interpersonal skills and experience working across cross-functional teams. Candidates with prior precision metalworking or machining industry experience are preferred.
