Assistant Manager – Sales & Business Development (Solar, Drilling & Water Solutions)

Location: Central Africa

Reports to: Senior Manager – Sales & Business Development
Employment Type: Full-time | Expat/Local

 

Role Purpose

Drive growth across Off-Grid Solar (OGS), Drilling, and Water (RO) solutions by identifying markets, winning tenders, and building strong B2B, B2C, and B2G relationships.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify new business opportunities through research, networking, and market surveys.
• Generate leads and convert to proposals across private, government, and NGO sectors.
• Prepare and submit tenders, RFQs, proposals; track results and improve win rates.
• Manage client relationships, resolve queries, and coordinate with technical teams.
• Develop business verticals in water and off-grid solar solutions.
• Deliver monthly/quarterly reports and drive revenue/KPI growth.

Immediate Priorities (12 Months)

• 30 Days: Submit active tenders, set up CRM, meet 15+ clients, shortlist prospects.
• 90 Days: Market survey, onboard 15 new clients, draft water/government business plans.
• 6–9 Months: Secure 2–3 government tenders, grow recurring projects, explore regional expansion.

Key Metrics

• Revenue growth across solar, drilling, and water solutions.
• New client acquisition and partnerships (corporates, NGOs, government).
• Tender win rate and pipeline efficiency.
• Expansion of product lines (solar water heaters, treatment plants, pumps, tanks, etc.).

Candidate Requirements

• Education: BE/B.Tech, MBA, or related.
• Experience: 4+ years in sales/BD (solar, drilling, water, or engineering preferred).
• Skills: Strong tendering, contract management, negotiation, and client engagement.
• Fluency in French & English (Swahili a plus).
• High adaptability for multicultural, Sub-Saharan contexts.

Ideal Profile

• Age 30–35, experience in Sub-Saharan Africa strongly preferred.
• Proven government/NGO engagement.
• Integrity, confidentiality, and strong business acumen.

Sr. Engineer/Dy Manager Tailings - Central Africa

Sr. Engineer/Dy Manager Tailings

 

Experience: Big civil projects for 10-12 years

Location: Central Africa

 

Education: B.E./B.Tech (Civil)

 

The Sr. Engineer/Dy Manager Tailings will report to the Tailings Head and carry out the following tasks -

•             In cooperation with the processing departments at each site, ensure the tailings deposition systems are constructed and operated with depositional requirements

•             Overseeing interactive development of Tailing Storage Facilities final design drawings and documentation through to effective communication to the construction team

•             Overseeing that required tailings deposition infrastructure, methods and operations as well as embankment design work is completed on time and in line with operational requirements

•             Communicating all design related decisions and outcomes to the management

•             Understanding overall requirements for timing of construction activities in order to meet operational requirements

•             Managing the functions of construction quality control (CQC) activities and oversee construction quality assurance (CQA) on all TSF construction activities

•             Compilation of all required reporting including daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports, monthly stewardship documents and annual construction reports

•             Regular monitoring of the performance of any geotechnical structures, observing and reporting on effectiveness of maintenance of all TSF facilities

•             Reporting the superiors if medium or long term filling plans need adjustment

•             Verifying that operational freeboard (including factors of safety), storm water channels and access routes are properly maintained  and reporting to Operations management any remedial actions that are required

•             Managing the TSF risk register which includes identifying risks with operations and stakeholders throughout the mine life cycle, developing corrective actions to mitigate risk and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
