Position Overview:

We're seeking an experienced General Manager to lead our solar energy operations in Central Africa. This role involves strategic planning, operational management, and leadership to ensure successful project execution, operational efficiency, and alignment with company goals.

Key Responsibilities:

- Operational Leadership: Lead and manage day-to-day solar project operations

- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with company goals

- Project Oversight: Oversee solar project execution from start to finish

- Financial Management: Manage operational budget and track expenditures

- Stakeholder Engagement: Maintain strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and local authorities

- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate operational risks

- Innovation and Improvement: Stay updated with industry trends and implement innovative solutions

Qualifications:

- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Renewable Energy, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's degree or MBA advantageous)

- Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in solar energy operations, with at least 5 years in a leadership or management role

- Skills: Strong leadership, team management, and strategic planning abilities

- Knowledge: Comprehensive understanding of solar technologies, project management methodologies, and regulatory requirements in Africa

- Language Proficiency: Fluency in French required, proficiency in English a plus

Job Description:

·         Hold & Attend Customer Meetings and relationship building with Project Heads.

·         Accountable for Project Planning and forecasting of material, machineries, equipment.

·         Understand geographical and commercial boundaries and design project planning accordingly.

·         Co-ordination with Customer & Project Manager regarding Project related issues & feedback.

·         Follow-up & Co-ordination with different support offices for the execution of the Project.

·         Follow-up with Procurement Department & other HODs for Timely Supply of materials.

·         Administrative responsibility on department level to maintain uninterrupted workflow.

Civil Planner - Central Africa

Preparing the construction schedule in Primavera P6 and MS Projects and also the preparation of other planning documents (like Progress S Curve, Earn Value Curve, Manpower Histogram etc.).

Regularly monitoring critical path and preparing schedule impact reports for the project management.

Proactively assessing progress, completion forecasts and providing solutions to mitigate schedule delays or to optimize project completion.

Evaluating project progress against historical indicators on weekly basis and providing the management with comparative analysis. Responsible for day to day interaction with client/ consultants/subcontracts regarding the progress of the works.

Preparation of detailed Schedule from Bill Of Quantities

Preparing commissioning schedules in coordination with equipment supplier, erection agency, testing and commissioning team to match with the project completion plan.

Coordinate with the engineering and procurement department regarding the interfacing of construction activities and Material & Equipment availability.

Implementing cost-efficient method for construction; tracking design approvals, construction, drawings approvals, material approvals, delay in site inspection, bill of quantities variation & addition/deletion and natural calamities, site instruction register, etc for applying Extension of time.

Keeping close watch on various activities of Project (like delivery of materials, site clearance, duration of activities, Holds etc.) and updating the Project Manager on any Risk foreseen for project completion and providing suggestions
