Manager – Project Finance & Accounts

Position Overview
Seeking a proactive and analytical Manager – Project
Finance & Accounts to oversee financial operations for our expanding
solar EPC and B2G (Business-to-Government) portfolio in the Central Africa.
This role is critical for ensuring the financial health of multi-site renewable
energy projects, managing a project book exceeding US$50M, and driving
cost optimization.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Financial Management
- Cash
Flow & Disbursements: Track cash flow to prevent delays, oversee
daily entries, and manage timely disbursements for salaries and suppliers.
- B2G
Portfolio Oversight: Streamline payment entries and client/supplier
follow-ups specifically for ongoing B2G projects.
- Budgetary
Control: Perform variance analysis of project sites against budgets
and monitor site expenses daily to flag discrepancies.
- Material
Accounting: Manage landed costs for materials, monitor consumption,
and oversee Goods Received Notes (GRN) against budget.
2. Reporting & Compliance
- Project
MIS: Prepare comprehensive Management Information Systems (MIS)
reports for various projects and verticals.
- Book
Closure: Lead smooth book-closing activities and ensure data integrity
within the ERP (Odoo).
- Statutory
Compliance: Ensure timely payment of duties, TVA (VAT), and coordinate
the clearance of goods at various project sites.
3. Strategy & Optimization
- Cost
Optimization: Identify and implement at least 2-3 cost-saving
initiatives in collaboration with Operations and Site teams.
- Contract
Monitoring: Monitor contract covenants, track insurance renewals, and
manage Advance/Performance Guarantees.
- Invoicing
Milestones: Track invoicing milestones to ensure payments are received
within 60–90 days.
Candidate Requirements
Education & Experience
- Educational
Background: B.Com, Cost Accountant, or CA preferred.
- Experience:
5+ years in EPC project finance, specifically managing large-scale
projects (>US$50M).
- Geographical
Exposure: Strong preference for candidates with experience working in Africa
and within a family business environment.
Technical Skills
- Expertise
in Cash Management and Project Bookkeeping across multiple sites.
- Proficiency
in Excel and ERP systems (Odoo experience is a significant
advantage).
- Experience
in Renewable Energy or solar-based projects is highly desired.
Soft Skills
- Ability
to perform under high pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong
ethics and collaborative mindset to work with multi-cultural, remote, and
on-ground teams.
