Assistant Manager – Sales & Business Development (Solar, Drilling & Water Solutions)

Reports to: Senior Manager – Sales & Business
Development

Role Purpose
Drive growth across Off-Grid Solar (OGS), Drilling, and
Water (RO) solutions by identifying markets, winning tenders, and building
strong B2B, B2C, and B2G relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify
new business opportunities through research, networking, and market
surveys.
- Generate
leads and convert to proposals across private, government, and NGO
sectors.
- Prepare
and submit tenders, RFQs, proposals; track results and improve win rates.
- Manage
client relationships, resolve queries, and coordinate with technical
teams.
- Develop
business verticals in water and off-grid solar solutions.
- Deliver
monthly/quarterly reports and drive revenue/KPI growth.
Immediate Priorities (12 Months)
- 30
Days: Submit active tenders, set up CRM, meet 15+ clients, shortlist
prospects.
- 90
Days: Market survey, onboard 15 new clients, draft water/government
business plans.
- 6–9
Months: Secure 2–3 government tenders, grow recurring projects,
explore regional expansion.
Key Metrics
- Revenue
growth across solar, drilling, and water solutions.
- New
client acquisition and partnerships (corporates, NGOs, government).
- Tender
win rate and pipeline efficiency.
- Expansion
of product lines (solar water heaters, treatment plants, pumps, tanks,
etc.).
Candidate Requirements
- Education: BE/B.Tech,
MBA, or related.
- Experience: 4+
years in sales/BD (solar, drilling, water, or engineering preferred).
- Skills: Strong
tendering, contract management, negotiation, and client engagement.
- Fluency
in French & English (Swahili a plus).
- High
adaptability for multicultural, Sub-Saharan contexts.
Ideal Profile
- Age
30–35, experience in Sub-Saharan Africa strongly preferred.
- Proven
government/NGO engagement.
- Integrity,
confidentiality, and strong business acumen.
