We are looking for a high-impact, strategic, and execution-focused Chief Operating Officer (COO) to lead and scale operations across large, complex construction and infrastructure projects in Central Africa.
This is a leadership-critical role for a professional who brings an owner’s mindset, thrives in dynamic environments, and has a proven track record of delivering large-scale, high-value projects with operational excellence.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Drive end-to-end execution of construction and infrastructure projects, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and quality excellence.
- Strategic Execution: Translate business vision into actionable operational strategies and measurable outcomes.
- P&L Ownership: Lead financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and profitability optimization.
- Project Excellence: Oversee project management frameworks, construction methodologies, and technical procurement processes.
- Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and lead high-performing, multicultural teams across multiple geographies.
- Process Optimization: Implement modern construction technologies, digital tools, and best practices to enhance efficiency and transparency.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify operational risks and ensure compliance with regulatory, safety, and quality standards.
🧠 What We’re Looking For
Experience
- 20+ years in construction or infrastructure industry
- Minimum 10+ years in senior executive leadership roles
- Proven success in delivering large-scale, complex projects
- Strong expertise in P&L management, financial strategy, and resource optimization
- Deep understanding of project management systems, procurement, and execution models
- Demonstrated ability to lead in high-pressure, multicultural environments
🎓 Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering / Construction Management (Mandatory)
- MBA or equivalent advanced qualification (Highly Preferred)
