Brief Job Description:
· Person shall have excellent communications and management skills in order to successfully manage local & expat team and outside & group companies drilling contracts. Proven technical skills in exploration and water well drilling are required to assume leadership in the identification and evaluation of drilling performance and grab more opportunities. Manage the company’s drilling exploration activities, ensure all drilling equipment’s and utility / support vehicles are always in good condition. Develop new business through identification, investigation, negotiation and acquisition of exploration opportunities. Develop and manage annual projections and budgets. Weekly, monthly reporting to the Business head regarding progress and results. Directing and monitoring drilling work performed by drillers. Ensuring Company HSE policies are adhered to at all times.
Working Conditions:
· The physical environment requires employees to work outside in the heat or cold, wet or humid or dry, and in remote or isolated camp conditions as well as office conditions. This means one would need to be physically fit and strong and also to be mechanically orientated will often also work in remote locations where one can be exposed to extreme weather conditions including dust and being exposed to loud noises.
Qualification:
Degree in Geology or in Mining is required. Advanced degree would be an asset. Minimum 12-15 years exploration & mining experience, 05-07 years in a management role. Proven skills in the areas of technical assessment, project management, evaluation/decision making, and negotiation/communication. Fluent in the application and use of computer driven exploration programs. Must be highly motivated and able to influence and motivate others.
