Job Description

Assists the Business Head in the management of the organization;

Ensures the achievement of goals pursued by the organization;

Ensures timely and competent presentation of reports

Participates in official negotiations and meetings presenting the interests and objectives of the project;

Monitors incoming and outgoing documents and the official correspondence;

In coordination with the heads of units submits all matters and proposals to the Business Head for the latters approval;

Ensures coordination of activities by the units;

Together with the Project heads, discusses the cost-estimates;

Together with the Procurement and Contract Management Officer, coordinates the procurement process and participates in the activities of evaluation committees;

Participates in the management of the Project budget;

Assists in the project financial management;

Assists in the preparation of financial requests for subsequent tranches, if needed,

Elaborates on functions and procedures proceeding from the project goals and objectives, and manages the strategic and current short and long term planning activities;

Carries out other tasks as requested by the Business Head.

The Sr. Engineer/Dy Manager Tailings will report to the Tailings Head and carry out the following tasks -

•             In cooperation with the processing departments at each site, ensure the tailings deposition systems are constructed and operated with depositional requirements

•             Overseeing interactive development of Tailing Storage Facilities final design drawings and documentation through to effective communication to the construction team

•             Overseeing that required tailings deposition infrastructure, methods and operations as well as embankment design work is completed on time and in line with operational requirements

•             Communicating all design related decisions and outcomes to the management

•             Understanding overall requirements for timing of construction activities in order to meet operational requirements

•             Managing the functions of construction quality control (CQC) activities and oversee construction quality assurance (CQA) on all TSF construction activities

•             Compilation of all required reporting including daily, weekly and monthly monitoring reports, monthly stewardship documents and annual construction reports

•             Regular monitoring of the performance of any geotechnical structures, observing and reporting on effectiveness of maintenance of all TSF facilities

•             Reporting the superiors if medium or long term filling plans need adjustment

•             Verifying that operational freeboard (including factors of safety), storm water channels and access routes are properly maintained  and reporting to Operations management any remedial actions that are required

•             Managing the TSF risk register which includes identifying risks with operations and stakeholders throughout the mine life cycle, developing corrective actions to mitigate risk and monitor implementation of corrective actions.
