Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled Chemical Engineer to join our team as an Assistant Manager (Process). The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in process design and engineering, with a specific focus on hydrometallurgy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design and Engineering:
- Convert laboratory test results and studies into comprehensive process flow diagrams.
- Conduct detailed mass and energy balance calculations to optimize process efficiency.
- Prepare accurate P&IDs, equipment lists, and data sheets for various process units.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of process design with other engineering disciplines.
- Technical Expertise:
- Possess a deep understanding of hydrometallurgical processes and their underlying principles.
- Stay updated on the latest industry trends and technologies to drive innovation and efficiency.
- Utilize advanced engineering tools and software to analyze process data and optimize designs.
- Project Management:
- Contribute to project planning, scheduling, and budgeting activities.
- Monitor project progress and identify potential risks, implementing mitigation strategies as needed.
- Ensure adherence to quality standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Team Leadership:
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment.
- Effectively communicate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and senior management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from a reputable university with a strong academic record (First Division preferred).
- 4-5 years of hands-on experience in process design and engineering within an engineering or consultancy firm.
- Proven expertise in hydrometallurgy is essential.
- Proficiency in relevant engineering software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, AutoCAD).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
