Environmental Manager – Mining & Mineral Processing (Central Africa)

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Manager for a leading mining and mineral processing company based in Central Africa.

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 10 years in environmental management, preferably within the mining or mineral treatment sector

• Education: Degree in Environmental Sciences (mandatory)

• Languages: Fluency in French and/or Swahili (mandatory)

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement environmental strategies, policies, and action plans to ensure sustainable development.

• Lead sustainable procurement for all goods and services.

• Oversee pollution control, waste management, recycling, environmental health, conservation, and renewable energy initiatives.

• Ensure full compliance with DRC, UN, and international environmental regulations and legislation.

• Liaise with local authorities, public bodies, and regulatory agencies.

• Conduct environmental audits, impact assessments, and performance reporting.

• Raise organizational awareness of emerging environmental issues.

• Implement best practices in corporate social responsibility, ethics, and sustainability.

• Manage stakeholder relations, including board members, senior management, and staff.

• Train and educate staff at all levels on environmental practices and responsibilities.

• Coordinate public hearings and consultations on environmental matters.

• Negotiate environmental service agreements and manage associated costs.

• Lead preparation of environmental reports and documentation.

• Define organizational sustainability targets, develop action plans, and oversee delivery.
