Hemm Technician (Mechanic) (Tata & Mahindra Trucks & Buses)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled HEMM (Heavy Earth Moving Machinery) Technician to join our team in Central Africa. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in the maintenance and repair of Tata and Mahindra trucks and buses. This role requires a hands-on professional with a strong understanding of diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulic systems, and overall vehicle diagnostics.

Responsibilities:

• Perform routine maintenance and preventative maintenance on Tata and Mahindra trucks and buses.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
• Conduct thorough inspections and identify potential issues.
• Repair and replace engine components, transmissions, differentials, and other vehicle systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical wiring and electronic control systems.
• Maintain accurate records of all maintenance and repair work.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with safety standards and company policies.
• Order and manage spare parts and inventory.
• Provide technical support and guidance to junior technicians.
• Perform road tests to ensure proper vehicle operation.
• Adapt to and work effectively in challenging environmental conditions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of 10+ years of proven experience as a HEMM Technician, specifically with Tata and Mahindra trucks and buses.
• ITI or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electrical systems, and hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality work.  
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.  
• Valid driver's license.  
• Ability to work in Central Africa.
• Experience in a remote location is a plus.
