Job Description:

Reporting to the Mine Services Supervisor, the position is responsible for the safe operation of equipment, installation of Pumps, preventative maintenance, servicing of pumps, Maintenance of standby pipes, dewatering pipelines and in Borewells, installation and maintenance of ground support (cable bolts, straps) for all equipments, installation and maintenance of road signage & delineation; building and maintenance of roadways, windrows, park- up areas, go-lines, hardstand and haul roads. The position should be able to assist in other work areas on the mine site, including operation of other types of surface mining/plant pumps equipment, providing competency in that equipment has been attained.

Skills and Experience Required:

·         Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar position

·         Senior First Aid or the capability to obtain this qualification

·         Relevant experience in dewatering methods

·         Relevant experience in ground support methods

·         Relevant experience operating an IT tool carrier

·         Poly welder - HDPE training/accreditation is desirable

·         Demonstrated ability to work to deadline and to meet specified targets

·         Previous mining experience is desirable

·         Understanding of OHS requirements in a production mining environment

·         Excellent communication skills, and the ability to carry out instructions

·         Demonstrated leadership skills are desirable

·         Assist Mine Operations Coordinator with pump installations, relocations and replacements in pit Stationary as well as mobile dewatering pumps.

·         Complete water line installations, relocations and replacements as required.

·         Monitor, troubleshoot and report on water movement and pump performance.

·         Utility and other project work as assigned from time to time by In Charge

Reporting Relationships: Works independently / sometimes with supervision of the Fixed Maintenance Supervisor
