BRIEF DESCRIPTION:

The position of Inhouse Legal Counsel (“Counsel”) consists of being responsible for advising on, reviewing, editing, drafting and settling of commercial contracts in support of the business enterprises of the Our client group company’s.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

·         Counsel will undertake the review, editing, drafting and settling of commercial contracts as follows:

·         Engage the person/s driving the business transaction (“Client”)

·         Manage the consultation process with Client to ensure a detailed brief (“Brief”) of the business transaction (“Matter”)

·         Open and maintain orderly and accessible Client files containing all correspondence and documents relating to the Brief.

·         Determine. assess and advise Client on any commercial risk pertaining to the Matter and the contractual provisions available to mitigate.

·         Determine, assess and advise Client on appropriate Jurisdiction and Dispute Resolution options.

·         Determine, assess and advise client on contractual strengths and weaknesses and draft appropriate provision to mitigate.

·         Undertake the review and edit of commercial contracts received from third parties (“Business Partners”) which shall include engaging with the Business Partner and/or their professional advisors.

·         Ensure best advice through thorough understanding of applicable law, research and consultation with external advisors.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Law degree;

Be licensed to practice law;

Minimum 5 years of experience.

Ability to give full attention to what other people are saying, and to use logic and reason to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions;

Ability to identify complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions, and to persuade others to change their minds or behavior.
