Senior Logistics & Procurement Officer - Africa

Job purpose

The Senior Logistics & Procurement Officer will be responsible to support procurement & logistics functions of Our Client’s.

Duties and responsibilities

•  Ensure timely procurement and logistic tasks achievement.
•  Supervise fleet management.
•  Supervise custom clearance & stay up-to-date with different regulation related to custom.
•  Supervise distribution of goods & supplies within the deadline.
•  Organize the daily / weekly / monthly logistics and procurement plan, in coordination with the program staff.
•  Conduct periodical quality assessment of supplier/contractor as per ISO procedure.
•  Interface with engineering, construction, operations, finance, HS&E, legal, and insurance as well as Contractors, inspectors, expeditors and freight forwarders to insure orders/contracts are placed and completed on schedule.
•  Regularly assess and review logistics & procurement arrangements to ensure that operations meet strategic aims and are efficient and cost-effective.
•  Stay abreast of and evaluate current market conditions and develop new sources of supply as necessary.
•  Forecasting price trends and their impact on future activities.
•  Ensure that all procurement is processed in accordance with applicable guidelines, good practice & required report by different department.
•  Evaluate and mentor the logistic/procurement employee.
• Keep procurement files in accordance with DRC guidelines and ready for internal & external audit.
•  Keep soft and hard records of all logistic/procurement contracts (services, goods, works).
•  Participate and present reports, statistics, presentation etc during senior management meeting.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Supply-Chain preferable.

Experience
+3 years in a similar position.
DRC/Central African location experience preferred
Budget and stock control experience 

Working conditions
Frequent travelling to custom check-points in case of any challenges.
May be requested to work extra hours during peak season as it is Agri-Business.

Physical requirements
Good physical aptitude and overall health.
Minimum 25 years of age
