The MEMS product is a system, which is typically composed of the MEMS device, package , electronics, and software. Understanding the functions of each component of the system allows the development team to increase the overall value of the product and to partition functions to the appropriate components. The MEMS product can be integrated at board, package , or die levels. Greater integration can create significant advantages, such as smaller products and lower per-unit costs, but also has greater challenges, such as higher development cost, time, and risk in order to realize those advantages. why is thought leadership important
