Senior Farm Manager
A challenging role based in the South-East DR Congo.
Candidates with experience in large-scale crop farming (10
000ha).
Will implement strategies for maximum yield, bring the farm to a
bigger scale of operations, organize farm administration, work machinery and
manage any associated businesses and staff.
Reporting structure:
- Reporting
to General Manager and Shareholders
- Supervision
Of Farm Manager / Workshops supervisor and Land clearing Manager
- Interacts
With Suppliers, Community, Local
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- plan
finances and production to maintain farm progress against budget parameters
- Capital
Projects Feasibility, Planning and Implementation
- maintain
and monitor the quality of yield
- ensure
that farm activities comply with government regulations
- maintain
knowledge of pests and diseases and an understanding of how they spread and how
to treat them
- apply
for funding - if appropriate.
- apply
health and safety standards across the farm estate
- protect
the environment and maintaining biodiversity
- Management
of current, ongoing and future farm projects
- Develop,
implement and manage a technical and operational farm scale-up plan
- Maize
Cropping - 4000 ha (dryland) - Spray, Fertilizing, Irrigation, etc.
- People
management
- Provide
recommendations to the company on overall farm development

Minimum Requirements
- Agriculture
Diploma/Degree advantageous (agricultural engineering, crop management, farm
business management, land/estate management or any related relevant matter)
- Minimum
10 years’ experience in maize farming (dryland and irrigated land)
- Operations
Management of large agricultural estates
- Experience
with tractors, harvesters, seeders, sprayers tillage machinery and fertilizer
handling equipment
- a full
driving licence
- self-motivation,
with the ability to motivate others

- Ability
to Manage People from various background and cultures
- Able to
solve problems and communicate effectively
- the
ability to work under pressure
- Attention
to detail and able to follow up and give feedback
