Job Overview
We are hiring for a Deputy Manager – Process Design for a leading mining and mineral company based in Central Africa. The ideal candidate should have solid experience in process engineering and design activities for mineral processing plants, including expertise in process selection, equipment sizing, and inter-disciplinary coordination.
Key Responsibilities
Develop process designs and basic engineering deliverables for mineral processing plants.
Prepare and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), design basis, and process descriptions.
Perform mass and water balance calculations, equipment sizing, and selection.
Provide process inputs for plant layout and CAPEX/OPEX estimation.
Coordinate with mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams for multidisciplinary integration.
Interface with OEMs, licensors, and test-work agencies during design development.
Support technical bid evaluations, feasibility studies, and commissioning activities.
Develop and optimize processes involving crushing, grinding, classification, flotation, gravity and magnetic separation, thickening, filtration, and tailings handling.
Required Skills & Experience
Minimum 7 years of process engineering experience in the mineral processing industry.
Exposure to basic engineering, feasibility, and DPR stage projects.
Strong command over process calculations, flow sheet development, and equipment design.
Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and familiar with AutoCAD or other engineering design tools.
