Manager
Job purpose:
Reporting to the Engineering In
charge and will be part of the Maintenance team responsible for ensuring
availability, performance and integrity. The role will also lead small to
mid-sized modifications.
Duties and responsibilities
Act
as the enabler on behalf of the company to ensure internal and externally
contracted services providers are able to perform sustainably at optimal levels
of efficiency, whilst adhering to Code of Conduct and relevant statutory
obligations.
Day-to-day
on-site supervision of contractor and sub-contractor groups ensuring a safe,
productive, quality, sustainable and disciplined approach to work.
An
overriding commitment to health, safety, environment responsibility and
sustainable development;
Set
and clearly communicate targets and expectations aligned with site and
Engineering Department goals.
Lay-out,
position, align and secure parts and assemblies prior to assembly, using
straightedges, combination squares, calipers and rulers.
Clamp,
hold, tack, heat-bend, grind and/or bolt component parts to obtain required
configuration and positions for welding.
Fabricate, assemble and fit
products as required.
Qualifications, Experience,
Skills & Performance Goals
Qualifications:
Diploma or ITI in the trade
required.
Experience
Minimum
2 years fabrication fitting experience in a Mining Industry or Process plant.
Experience
leading and mentoring teams and an ability to provide leadership and
development of team members;
All required site statutory
competencies as referenced in the site health and safety management system.
Performance Goals
Ability
to perform single, technical tasks with a need to occasionally upgrade skills
in order to meet changing job conditions.
Interpersonal/oral
communication skills to deal with co-workers and supervisors regarding ongoing
projects
Ability to read, understand and
interpret materials such as blueprints, job specifications, layout patterns,
job task plans and manuals
Problem
solving skills in order to identify problems and issues with drawings and work
orders and bring it to the supervisor’s attention. May volunteer solutions or
alternatives to the way their own work is done.
Ability
to deal with distractions of noise and other workers on the shop floor. Ability
to concentrate for extended periods of time when fitting large pieces of
equipment
The incumbent should be able to
work with a work order system and little to some supervision.
Working conditions
In
this dynamic role you will work in our mine site based at DR Congo.
You will assigned to work in
general shift but if required should be willing to come in back shifts also.
