Piling Operations Foreman
Location: Central Africa
Reporting To: Site Manager
Role Overview:
We are seeking a highly experienced and capable Piling
Operations Foreman to enhance our operational capability at our Kinshasa
branch. This critical role will be responsible for independently managing and
overseeing all aspects of piling operations, ensuring efficiency, safety, and
adherence to the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate will possess
extensive knowledge of both land and offshore piling techniques and a proven
track record of successfully leading piling teams in complex construction environments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operational
Management: Independently manage and oversee all on-site piling
activities, from planning and execution to completion.
- Standardization:
Develop and implement standardized piling execution methods that align
with current project scopes, ensuring consistency and efficiency.
- Coordination:
Efficiently coordinate all site activities related to piling operations,
ensuring seamless integration with other construction teams and client
representatives.
- Supervision:
Provide direct supervision and guidance to the piling team, ensuring
adherence to safety regulations, quality standards, and project timelines.
- Resource
Management: Conduct comprehensive reviews of available materials and
equipment, ensuring optimal utilization and timely procurement when
necessary.
- Process
Optimization: Continuously analyze and optimize piling processes to
enhance time efficiency and reduce operational costs.
- Safety
Leadership: Champion a zero-incident safety culture on-site, ensuring
strict adherence to safety protocols and proactively addressing potential
hazards.
- Quality
Assurance: Maintain high-quality standards in all piling work,
ensuring compliance with project specifications and client expectations.
- Team
Development: Develop a skilled and motivated piling team proficient in
various piling techniques through coaching, mentoring, and on-the-job
training.
- Reporting
and Monitoring: Follow established reporting and monitoring systems as
defined by the Core Committee, providing regular updates on progress and
challenges to the Site Manager.
- Client
Liaison: Ensure seamless coordination and communication with clients'
construction teams, fostering positive working relationships.
- SOP
Development: Develop and implement standard operating procedures
(SOPs) based on accumulated experience and best practices.
- Independent
Operation Empowerment: Contribute to empowering the site team to
eventually manage smaller-scale piling operations independently.
- Multi-Site
Management: Demonstrate the ability to manage piling activities across
multiple sites efficiently.
Key Objectives:
First 30 Days:
- Establish
and finalize the piling work execution method for current projects.
- Conduct
a comprehensive review of available materials and equipment.
- Start
direct supervision of on-site piling activities.
First 90 Days:
- Optimize
piling processes for enhanced time efficiency.
- Ensure
milestone achievement without safety incidents.
- Develop
and implement standard operating procedures from accumulated experience.
First 6 Months:
- Assume
full management of all piling operations.
- Develop
a skilled team adept in various piling techniques.
- Follow
the reporting and monitoring systems established by the Core Committee.
1 Year From Now:
- Empower
the site team to manage smaller-scale piling operations independently.
- Manage
multi-site piling activities efficiently.
- Maintain
a zero-incident safety record and uphold high-quality standards.
- Contribute

the piling segment of the construction industry of Kinshasa.
Success Measurement:
Success in this role will be measured through:
- Project
completion rates.

Team Structure:
This position will lead the piling team and will require
seamless coordination with clients' construction teams.
Required Expertise, Skills, and Competencies:
- Minimum
of 15-20 years of extensive piling experience, with in-depth knowledge of
both land and offshore piling techniques.
- Proven
expertise in supervising reinforced concrete work, drilling operations,
and pile cage operations.
- Strong
leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage teams
effectively.
- Excellent
problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Effective
communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact
professionally with team members, clients, and stakeholders.
- Familiarity
with organizational best practices in construction management.
- Demonstrated
ability to manage piling operations independently and take ownership of
responsibilities.
- Proficiency
in French and Swahili is highly preferred.
Training and Development:
- Continuous
language training in both French and Swahili.
- Operational
training on company-specific tools and processes, including progress
reporting using What form and other relevant platforms.
- Internal
and external coaching and mentoring opportunities as needed.
Ideal Background:
- Proven
experience in land and offshore piling projects.
- Preference
for Indian expatriates due to their extensive relevant experience in
similar construction environments.
Education:
- Diploma in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
