Location: Mumbai, India, with required travel to Central Africa

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced and technically proficient Engineering Manager to lead solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) projects for our operations in Central Africa. The successful candidate will provide technology leadership, oversee end-to-end engineering design, and ensure the reliability and performance of renewable energy assets in challenging grid conditions.

Key Responsibilities

• Engineering & Design: Lead the design and engineering of Solar PV and BESS projects ranging from 50 kW to 100 MW+.

• Systems Oversight: Manage control systems, automation (EMS/SCADA), and protection schemes to ensure robust plant operations.

• Technical Leadership: Develop and implement technology standards specifically tailored for African grid conditions.

• Performance Optimization: Provide ongoing reliability support, performance monitoring, and optimization for operating power plants.

• Documentation & Training: Oversee the creation of comprehensive O&M documentation and lead technical training initiatives for on-ground teams.

• Vendor & Commercial Management: Execute techno-commercial evaluations, manage vendor relationships, and ensure cost-effective procurement.

• Leadership: Manage cross-functional teams, coordinate project stakeholders, and drive technical excellence across the project lifecycle.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Education: B.E. in Electrical Engineering.

• Advanced Degree: Master’s degree in Renewable Energy is highly preferred.

• Experience: 8–15 years of progressive experience in the solar energy sector.

• Technical Expertise: Proven track record in solar PV design, BESS integration, SCADA/EMS, and power protection systems.

• Flexibility: Willingness to travel to project sites in Central Africa as required.
