Piping Designer (Expat)

 

Location: Central Africa

 

Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing General Arrangement drawings, PFDs, and P&IDs, creating 3D models using CadWorx, and developing detailed fabrication drawings. This role involves maintaining drawing records, issuing approved drawings to sites, and training project personnel in AutoCAD. The Piping Designer will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and completeness of piping designs for medium to large-scale projects.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Prepare General Arrangement drawings for various sections, including PFDs and P&IDs, in collaboration with the engineering team.

Create 3D models of piping and equipment using CadWorx software.

Develop piping isometrics, GADs, and BOQs.

Design General Arrangement/Layout drawings for pre-engineered buildings.

Produce fabrication drawings for tanks and pipe rack structures based on reference drawings.

Maintain a comprehensive drawing register, including revision history, and manage all IOMs/vendor drawings and manuals.

Develop schedules and lists for the completion of drawings.

Issue approved drawings to the site following department and issuing authority approvals.

Train project personnel in AutoCAD software.

 

Educational Qualifications:

B.E. Mechanical or Diploma in Mechanical

 

Knowledge/Familiarity:

API 650, ASME B31.3, ASME SECTION (III) Div.1

 

Work Experience:

5 to 10 years of experience in piping design for medium to large-scale projects.

 

Technical Competencies:

Proficiency in AutoCAD, CadWorx, Navisworks, and Excel
